Paul,

Microsoft has done it again. I checked into upgradability from ME to 2000 professional, and it can't be done.

microsoft.com

Why did those morons release ME?

I have almost 600MB of memory on my machine, and ME has a memory leak which can use it all up in 15 minutes.

If anyone else has ME, they should try this experiment.

start->programs->accessories-> system tools-> system monitor
then:
edit->add item->system memory->unused physical memory
then:
start->search->for files or folders
type anything into "Search for files or folders named" and hit "search now"

You will watch all of the memory get used up faster than you can make fun of Bill Gates.

How can they ship a non-upgradeable, defective OS as standard on all retail computers?
