Just look at the bs in the dow futures today, pre-market they were taken down, then we
have an even open, then the NAPM numbers come out bad, and they spin it into "the
FED will have to cut"...Just nuts what is going on..

William:

The market seems to be doing its job of confounding as many people as possible... : >

We have important tests of the Dow, SPX, and Nasdaq at 9600, 1150, and 1800 respectively... Putting a positive spin on things one could argue that the better than expected NAPM numbers is not hitting the market as hard as one might expect... This suggests a tug of war between the camps wanting bad numbers for the FED to cut rates and those wanting the economy to be stronger for better than expected earnings numbers... As the day wears on it looks like the FED watchers are gaining the upper hand... finance.yahoo.com
