Kap,

Lots of people are jealous of men with big personalities, like Jerry Sanders and Bill Clinton.

<< Show me another company who did to Microsoft what AMD is doing to Intel. >>

Do you think that AMD has to lie to the shareholders to do that? Do you think if they were honest about their goals and objectives for the past year that they would not be competing with Intel?

In the past year, 1.5ghz in January, 1B operating profits for 2000, mustang, laptops, smp in Q4/Q1. How many major objectives have they failed on that they stated. Where are the 7 new processors between november and february?

They didn't have to go out and say all these things, and at the time they said them, it should have been pretty darn obvious that some of them weren't going to happen. While others maybe they really did think would happen.

One of the things that cracks me up is the amount of people here talking about how analysts just don't get it. Well I wonder why they don't? Maybe it's because AMD never consistantly achieves it's objectives. Maybe it's because you can't trust them to do what they say, so you have to make up you're own projections. Make no mistake, it's not some giant intel conspiracy that pits the analysts against AMD. It's AMD's fault. All they have to do is state we will do X in Y time frame and do it, and they did that for a one year period 2 years ago, and they were starting to gain some trust with the analyst community, but after this past year, I'd say they pretty much killed off whatever they had gained.
