All fronts pose threats. Honestly, I would be shocked if you knew a military officer who has as cavalier an attitude about our national defense as you seem to have. To proclaim there are "no serious threats" is absolute lunacy. Yet this is what we always hear from the left.

China is not about to attack Taiwan. China has no reason to attack Taiwan; they stand to lose far more than they stand to gain
Why do they lay claim to it, then?

And a few years ago China did threaten to invade Taiwan. I believe the condition was if Taiwan repudiated the "One China" doctrine. That threat galvanized- -and armed- -the right in this country. The Chinese government couldn't have been ignorant of that; they'd seen this before. Why make that threat if it's meaningless?
