William,

As you are well-aware, the market is discounting quite a spell of no growth or declining sales for virtually all (ok, all) software stocks. At least a full year at this point, and perhaps two years depending on one's longer term outlook. Any opinion on the overall software industry's prospects for the coming year or two, or five?

My impression is that while many weaker, younger companies associated with the IT boom will fade away, the bulk of sales are to companies which are sufficiently strong to weather the difficult economy. And that for many of the enterprise software companies, the norm will return to growth in the range of 20% t some point (when is the question).
