How is the California electric problem Bush's responsibility? There have been price caps there for a long time, despite rising costs. Are US taxpayers supposed to pay for California's failed economic experiment in government-controlled pricing? Is that what you think Bush is supposed to do? Bread was cheap, but unavailable, in the former Soviet Union, just like electricity in CA today (to consumers).

The severity of the tech slump may be primarily attributed to bush.

GM:

While I agree that GW could have been more positive in his discussions regarding the economy, this downturn is the result of higher interest rates that started in the previous administration... Also, after the longest economic boom in history and Tulipmania in the networking and dot.com sectors, there was bound to be a break sooner or later... GW cannot be blamed for this... It's part of the elements in a boom/bust cycle... With that said, perhaps if GW wasn't pressuring AG to do a 180 on his paying down the debt position in favor of supporting a tax cut the market might be higher today...
