My theory is that there will not be the high volume capitulation for the following reason. Since Bear markets end on low volume I am wondering if we will recognize the capitulation as we were able to in the 90's corrections. I have to think that the capitulation will be a gradual process and would confirm your theory of 60+ on the vix. If it is a slow capitulation process rather than a high volume (throw in the towel by the masses), the vix will very likely be able to continue an upward TREND.

Just thinking out loud.

Monty
