I've tiraded before about AG; I think he is at the root of the current problems in the economy. I won't reiterate it all here, but I think it's high time for new blood in that position.

I think both Bush and AG do not understand the new economys relationship to the stock market. The stock market is no longer a resultant, trailing indicator; it is involved in a feedback loop with consumer and business sentiment.

Rich:

A depression may come during Bush's term, but it cannot be caused by Bush. Depressions are not something born in a year or six months or two years. If we have a Depression it will be as the result of decades of excesses in the economy. I do not believe that Clinton and government had much to do with the prosperity we have been enjoying with the exception of the Reagan Tax Cuts and I frankly don't think the next depression will be caused by the government. What government does can change the timing a bit or make the depression more or less severe, but if a depression is coming no government can stop it.
