cont'd Shaw on the TSE
stockcharts.com
Pnf chart has the stock trending below its BRW (bearish resistance line) not good
stockcharts.com[w,a]dicayymy[dc][pc5!c21!c50!c200!h.02,.20!f][vc60][iut!Ul14!Lc20!La12,26,9!Lh14,3!Lb14]
Daily chart to my untrained eyes has Shaw @ the end of it's run. I base that on the following: Hanging man candle, Slo Stoc oversold (downturn looks imminent) RSI very close to oversold & may turn down, price rising on declining volume, price turned down just under the 200 day ema, (significant resistance?) I would prefer to see the 21 day ema over the 50 day ema.

Positives: SAR, +D1 over the -D1 (note the +D1 turned down over the last 3 days) ADX heading down maybe indicating a reversal in the previous trend

Regards,
Peter

Svenlar & Cush: MACD scan mystery solved

Remember that the MACD crossovers I was getting on the scans did not always seem to quite jive with the crossovers that were showing up on the Sharpcharts. After an evening of playing around, pondering and reading the MACD tutorial at the following site over and over:

stockcharts.com

I have finally come to the realization that the Chartsmart filter is not filtering for the crossover of the MACD with it's own 9 day EMA, but rather it is simply selecting the crossover of the fast and slow EMAs used for the MACD. This would conform to what is referred to in the above tutorial as the ZERO LINE CROSSOVER, rather than the MACD MOVING AVERAGE CROSSOVER.

Quite misleading on the part of Chartsmart if you ask me, although I see now that their description of the thing does describe it as simply the moving average crossovers.

Well, at least I understand MACD a lot better now!

Tom

Hi Pete and Tom, I'm gonna have to read up on P&F. I know zero 'bout how to read that stuff and I am interested

As for CAE, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It appears to me from your chart that it is backtesting that gap down form a couple of weeks ago and will resume its downtrend as soon as tomorrow. If it breaks to new highs its a long though.

The weeklies are real bearish
