William, you may be right. I'm hoping to see a bounce
after April 15th. They might as well take the Naz down
to 1400-1500 and get it over with, so we can bottom here.
In the meantime, I've moved away from all individual
stocks in my long-term port (IRA), even away from
my favorite rat dogs. :---(
I've got about 50% in UOPIX, the leveraged Nasdaq
fund, and the rest in Gold stocks (10% - NEM, GOLD, HGMCY),
and Cash (to scale into UOPIX if we go down further)
I realize this is very aggressive, but feel the risk/
reward is good with the Nasdaq off this much.
I didn't start nibbling on the Naz until we were at
2550, but of course that still quite a bit higher than
we are now.
Good luck to you, and all all the thread.

Matt

William:

The Dow is above 9600 support again... Nasdaq needs to move above 1800, and SPX needs to
move above 1150... If that happens we will be asking the question again if we have bottomed... If
that doesn't happen, we continue lower to Dow 9000, Nasdaq 1500, and SPX 1100 to 1080, and
maybe 923...

The Lucent scare yesterday may have actually helped the market... The poster boy/girl for the telecommunications equipment industry meltdown reversed when the bankruptcy rumors were denied... That bottom made may signal that all the bad news is priced into the beaten down techs... Even DELL is beating revised earnings estimates... Perhaps we will begin to see other companies beating revised estimates... If so, we will have bottomed... If not, look out below...
