The RDRAM is in the Dell. For all I know that may be the problem, it's too difficult to isolate.

Looked at a DULL catalog today, no RDRAM in it though.

My suggestion is drop the Dell sales pitch and build it the way they tell you they built it.

Sorry if I seem abrupt, I just told my son exactly what I think of his plan to drop out of College.

You never want to see a Jersey guy angry about his kid leaving college. Agent Orange is more forgiving.

Hi Nemer,

I noticed this statement in your post and went looking over at the Dell refurbish site.

I did go over on the refurb site and might well order a P4 for me ... after I drive the one in M's office for a bit ...
dang, those things are really cheap compared to what they can do ... I nearly bot one last nite .....
?

I think you can build one for a lot less if you go AMD. It didn't look like Dell could get within $600(at best) of what I think I can build a 1200 or 1300 TBird for with the same memory and peripherals.

If you are interested go here to see Pentium 4 compared to a much lower cost Thunderbird. www4.tomshardware.com

Now an overclocker like you could really make a Tbird soar.

Esteban
