jcholea - You wrote - "AMD is pursuing legal action against Alcatel, because Alcatel is [allegedly] pursuing illegal action against AMD. Two companies made a binding agreement, one of them (hint: not AMD) broke that agreement. "

Your comment reflects that of those who are very new to the semiconductor industry. Perhaps your involvement is only recent due to your AMD investments.

But suing your customer is not what is normally done in the semiconductor business. When business turns down, everybody shares the pain.

How would you react if AMD's silicon wafer suppliers decided to sue AMD because AMD delayed - or refused acceptance- of wafers that AMD had agreed to purchase 9 months ago during shortages?

I'm sure you'd be whistling out of the other side of your mouth.
