the dissenters believe those values just morphed their way into our society on their own. You and I are products of religious tradition whether we are believers or not. We couldn't erase that and start over even if we wanted to. But if we didn't have that tradition, is it so hard to imagine that people wouldn't have figured out on their own that life is nicer if people treat each other decently? In fact, how do you know that it didn't happen just that way and then some smarties figured that it would be easier to get everyone on board if they invented an enforcer deity? Could happen either way. Karen
