in a free society, yes, but since the actual story takes place in the rough-and-tumble global scene I believe your basic premise fails and thus the rest of your scenario has no point.

I know nerves are frayed with the horrible market and we have turned from irrational exuberance to irrational pessimism, but threadmates let's stop second guessing the diplomats, etc. and focus on the market.
