> U.S. Corporate Layoffs 162,867 in March

This week alone I have encountered at least three people who should be laid off. The optician who made my glasses wrong, the dental hygenist that took an hour to do the job and talked the whole time, and the fast food worker who could not get a simple order correct.

Layoffs are terrible if you are the one getting laid off, but overall they are good for the economy. I have been laid off twice in my career, never held a grudge against the companies since it was a sound business decision, then moved on with my life.

There are many mining personnel who have suffered layoffs, but cost are down and when gold rises we shareholders will make lots of money. Maybe we should donate some of our capital gains to the miners ?
