OT - ditching at sea

I defer to superior research. <g> However, large aircraft have significantly different ditching characteristics (higher airspeeds, more energy to dissipate) than GA single-engines.

OTOH, military aircraft seats have much *better* restraint designs than small (or large) GA passenger seats.

However, in this case, even 90% survival translates to "kill two people," of a crew of 24. That was a risk someone decided not to take.
