I think the real point is that system throughput and processor clock rate are loosely correlated at best, particularly across architectures.

TPC benchmarks are meaningless except to the users of TPC benchmarks. So if they have a 20 processor machine, they may have to buy one more to get the 5% back. BFD.

At least SUNW hardware scales because they pay attention to their backplane architecture, unlike some others I could mention... But what the heck, you're obviously the expert here, and I defer to your superior knowledge. No Ultra-Sparc III in your future, obviously.
