By then the stock had already tanked.

Makes little sense to me that California would let their power companies go bankrupt. Any restructured company is going to have to raise rates anyway.
PG&E owes the Bank of NY $2B alone.
Wait until that and other loans start to reverberate.

It's hard for me not to be bitter about the state of California. Their whole upper government should resign.
Power bills should double until they build more power plants.
