Dear Dave:

You still did not look up what apology means in Chinese culture. Most of it comes from the Confucious period. All your posturing shows your ignorance on the subject. Apology means everything is your fault. In no way should we ever say its our fault because it was not. All of the statesmen agree that we should not do it. You do not know more than the experts on China, so shut up until you know more about their culture.

The mere fact that one of their fighters was close enough to touch our big slow plane means that the Chinese pilot did not give enough room. It was 70 miles from their coastline well into international waters. The Chinese pilot was at fault and the Chinese government should have apologized or let the crew and plane go without comment within 1 to 2 days after they landed. The mere fact that they did not do the right thing, even in their own culture, is starting to hurt them far more than us. So, go read up on the subject and just be patient.

Pete
