The slave doesn't normally have too much ability to change the law or go somewhere else. Yeah, slavery is a real bitch. I'm sure glad we don't have that here. What do you want to do about it, Tim? Do you want our country to invade their country to set them free and impose our laws on them? Or maybe a boycott. Then we could sit back and wait for Europe to invade us or boycott us to free the prisoners on death row or get us to implement the Kyoto Protocol. What could we do instead that would be consistent with who we are and not invite retribution against our autonomy? Well, for one, you and I and the rest of the gang could all chip in and raise enough money to buy all the slaves and then set them free. Sure beats going to war. You might say that we're bigger and badder than everyone else so no one can invade or boycott us? Yes, that's true, at least for now. But isn't it better to end the slavery plus stand up for a principle of non-aggression? Karen
