Re: So comparing the mormon theology to any other mainstream religious theology in the US, is being just a bit far-fetched. The mormons have "hoed their own religious row(roe?) and generally are shunned from being considered a traditional christian religion based upon biblical context.

How come? I'm not sure of whether the fate of a girl born to a Mormon sect is more enviable than that of a Pashtu girl born to a Taleban community... To be sure, the psychological backlash for the Mormon girl must be much more damaging as the American woman realizes that she grew up amidst a fringe community and that mainstream families don't raise their daughters as sexual partners --in a country that pretends to be the champion of freedom at that! Contrariwise, Taleban women grow up in a region that belongs to the Islamic culture --from Pakistan to Iran to Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan to...-- and, however intolerable their social status, Taleban women are not reduced to mere playthings to gratify some lustful individuals....

As for: I grew up in a mormon community and while I may not agree with the religion, I've grown to respect and care about many of the people. So please don't take this as an attack. It's merely a statement of fact.

Likewise, I grew up in a multicultural city (Brussels) and while I may not agree with Islam, I've grown to respect and care about many of the people. So please don't take this as an attack. It's merely a statement of fact.

Regards,
Gus.
