I guess I look at sites like Alan Newman's site that has the dollar traded volume and the volume with respect to GDP -- it's also obvious that stocks have been a huge magnet for $s -- huge participation by the average joe, etc. Just trying to figure out what the increased volatility really tells us. I already know the above and that we are in a bear market of bear markets -- how can we make use of the info within this given time period -- what is it other than a curiosity. You're an e-waver -- what does this tell us inside the smaller time frames?

With so many swings in the 2 std dev range -- I wondered
1) if you got the calc wrong or
2) if you didn't get it wrong
that there might be a better way to look at it to get at the above ...
