wg, i'm with you. i want to know how it happened. china is waaay out of line immediately calling it the us' fault. in fact, that damaged their credibility as they didn't even wait to investigate. they made up their minds w/o supporting data.

well, we know they hit. the question is who's at fault. i infer that the chinese were following the us plane. they should give a certain amount of space. i'm trying envision the timing necessary to hit purposely hit the chinese plane and cause such little damage. not to mention the fact their was another chinese fighter who could shoot down the us plane. ramming the chinese plane on purpose was suicide.

perhaps they hit the chinese plane inadvertently (and absolutely lucked out on timing given a hit was going to occur). i still blame this on the chinese as it is their responsibility to give the plane some space.

the chinese fighters fly over 3x as fast as the us plane.
