Yes, I updated and scanned for viruses 3 days ago.

I ran enditall again just now, and got everything closed including Monwow. Why it decided to close this time i don't know. But I still got the Locked by disk utility msg.

Then I did as you suggested --> start...run...msconfig...ok.

The only one of the items you mentioned (Csinsm32, Csinject, Monwow, Realplay, Iowatch, Robot, Imgicon) that were listed there was Csinject. I unchecked it. Ther was an Iomegawatch that I figure was Iowatch, so I unchecked that, too. Then rebooted as required.

Then I did enditall again, and everything disabled except the protected three, Explorer, Systray and Enditall.

I didn't try to defrag with NSW because... well, I don't know. It's something running. It seemed simplest not to have it running. So I just used Windows. Start... Programs... Accessories... System Tools... Disk Defragmenter.

But it is still locked.

You had the thought that Norton Cleansweep might be the problem (that it might be corrupt or something). Could that be the problem even if it's disabled when I'm trying to defrag?

Okay, no whining. (You didn't say anything about whimpering, as I recall.)
