Bull trap? Yeah....amazing to see the SOXX challenge 515 once again..given the simply awful news....there is absolutely no fundamental bottom in sight for the semis/equipment makers....and the news has defienently gotten worse since Jan./Feb.....the stocks never bottom before the fundamentals (based on history)...so who knows what today's rally represent...515 should be a good wall to get over..

AMAT was back to 42+ for a time....incredible...

Doug I agree the ST bottom is probably in, however a retest will come. IMHO

Most retests take 2-5 weeks to run their course. We hit 1639 as the low on the Comp so I would look for that to get tested towards the end of earnings season/post earnings. Watch the volume closely as that will tell the tale. If we retest on light volume I will be committing. It does appear as if supply/demand is coming in line however we do need confirmation...

Some interesting bases being built in WCOM, SEBL, and others...

just the beginning of the base building process between 1600 and 2000, should be very tradable, and good time to average in for those that like to think LONGER THEN nano second.

Historically bear markets do not make a "V" recovery.

Historically bear markets do not do many things that this market has done. You are assuming that we are in a bear market. I am not certain if that is an accurate assessment. All of my reading and digging over the past year has not convinced me that we ever were in a TRUE bear. We could run at any point here. This could be it or may not, but it will happen when no one expects it.

Doug, this is a very manipulated market, for over 4 years fundamentals did not matter and they do not now. We will erratically trade up and down. My comment was for this morning action and guess what I also did not believe that they will run this market so high.

Had a limit buy on VSH yesterday at 17.5 did not like the action and canceled the order today I am sorry lost 2.5 points or over 15% for an overnight hold.

SCH, GX,JNPR, CIEN, BRCM, MOT, SONS, SUNW and many others jumped around 14% to 15%. That is no investing it is gambling.
