That is no investing it is gambling.
The market has always involved some gambling, since our knowledge is far from perfect, but you're right, over the last four years or so it has gone to the extreme. At least at one time you could feel safe by looking at fundamentals and ignoring the short-term volatility. But the volatility and the manipulation now is such that it has swamped fundamentals. Markets gapping up or down hundreds of points with no news; 100 point runups or rundowns during the day with instant reversals; cheap stocks getting cheaper, expensive stocks getting fattened up before the kill. 25% or more intraday gains or losses are now common.

I decided I want no part of it, and gradually moved to bonds over the last year or so. I see signs of increasing manipulation there as well, and am gradually going to money market and I-bonds. The instability and manipulation in this market reminds me of a process whose control has become unstable, and there are not many good endings for such processes.

Haim i was thinking about it today when I saw my screen showing 20%...10%.... also when Intel was down 10% after Dell news I said to myself....something wrong.

This market is moving by news about Fed easing before May and other fool stuffs. IMO this rally must be sold until we see better Fundamentals .

Broker House's and Media will try to sell that stocks price are cheap (INTC 2001 PE 38) and Bla Bla Bla. Also that stocks were over punished....... same soap opera.

I'm here just playing swings selling my friday's shopping . Not investing yet. Waiting for fundamentals, I believe that investors now will pay more attention on it!

Regards
GFS
