If Palomino reaches such high operating frequencies, why not demo it at those high frequencies? Why demo it at speeds reached over 12 months ago?

Remember the first copper TBird, which was demoed at 1.13GHz... demo speed is no indication of the chip's scalability. Were does your "12 months ago" come from? P4?

On the PowerNow! front, I have to agree (NO!!!) that it's unlikely that PowerNow! eats a lot of space... it's rather the spread of the hottest spots on the chip that is likely to eat that space (I do not really believe there will be large cache version)
