Poet and I have been contemplating by PM a discussion on what it means to be a leftist today.

Unfortunately, IMO it too often means viewing every human encounter as a victim-aggressor relationship. Whether it's sex, race, the environment, whatever, modern liberalism seems to me to feel a need to feel victimized by something or somebody intentionally wronging something or somebody else.

Major difference, IMO, between liberalism in the 60s, which focussed on personal responsibilty and accountability and equality of opportunity and liberalism in the 90s, which focussed on blame and victimization and equality of outcome whether earned or not.
