Thanks to the friends who invited us down to stay on their yacht.....and to their friends. We could never thank them enough. Now the pics.........not all of em...I tried to be brief.....lol. Anybody want to skip the narration.........dont blame ya. <g>content.communities.msn.com Puerto Vallarta is beautiful. Not like I remembered. The marina has been expanded since I was there last.content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com The boat we stayed on looks small compared to most down there.content.communities.msn.com Clappy! Check out this sailboat.content.communities.msn.com After the first few days at the marina and PV, we set out down the coast. We left early in the morning and headed for our first anchorage at Tenacatita. A long trip at 13 knots.content.communities.msn.com We stayed there for 1 uneventful, peacefull night, before heading for Barra de Navidad. Leaving the next morning, I caught my first fish.content.communities.msn.com We arrived in the Bahia de Navidad shortly after. There was a tiny little entrance located on the south side of the bay. content.communities.msn.com As we rounded the entrance we were astounded at some of the vessels berthed there.content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com Then we found out about the Hotel. Quite the place, anything you can think of or want is here, and nobody staying there....whats up with that?content.communities.msn.com When we left Barra de Navidad, we headed out about 10 miles to do some fishing around some sea mounds, known for tuna, and sailfish.content.communities.msn.com All I got was a bunch of tuna.....was hoping for some biggins.....content.communities.msn.com Then we went further south for a view of the Manzanillo bay.content.communities.msn.com Heading back up north, we passed Barra and anchored again at Tenacatita. The next day we were supposed to take a dinghy trip up the mouth of the river that flows into the cove there, but couldn't because of the tide. The ladies were real upset about that, but as is often the case, things happened for a reason.content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com At no time were we out of touch.content.communities.msn.com We pulled up anchor at 5:00 am and headed north for Yelapa...... A little village in a cove with a nice beach area and a waterfall to hike up to.content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com After spending the day there, we headed back to PV. That was the first half of our vacation. A great time. After we got back to Marina Vallarta we got invited on a sailing trip aboard a racing cat with the local sailing pro. content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com We found out that PV was not only being inundated with spring breakers, but also the Mexican holiday. Masses of people were headed for PV from all over the US and Mexico. We went out 1 evening to downtown to experience it. NUTS!! Just plain nuts......but, not being one to miss out on any fun, I indulged....... I found out how much fun I had the next morning. I didn't remember much, but had to go by the stories I was told. <gg> That was my only lapse.....in reccolection.... My wife got to live out her life long dream and swim with the dolphins. content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com One of the last things we got to do was see some of the back country, out of the way places. The friends we were staying with know a guy who has lived in PV for 15 years. He was kind enough to take us on a tour of some places most folks don't get to see. content.communities.msn.com content.communities.msn.com He also told us some stories about living down there. Did you know that to pay your utility bills, you have to run down to their office and pay cash. No checks....no mail......cash, at the office, every month. Geezzzz Just one of many strange tings about Mehico. But I still love it. I love it that ya have to take the right turnoff to turn left across a main street. I like that if your in a hurry.....too bad, this is Mexican time....... Did ya know ya can't buy good whiskey down there? Did ya know that the agave plant....the one responsible for tequilla, is only harvested after many years of growing? Their running out, and tequila is goin up in price. Whats the symbol for agave? <g> That is not all the pictures posted on the website, or gonna be posted, but the ones I like. Its great to be back to the NNBM bar! Uh.....sort of..... Now where is that clapster? Doesn't he owe me a drink ...or sometin? Its late..I'm gonna finish this post now and get some other email stuff done......whilst downing another cold one....... Adios, my friends.......till we meet...uh...or post....again.... :0) Ramblin@wholikeslookinatvacationpics.com
