si in the old days used to be a great place...many of you are new here and dont know what im talking about...its now a place where too many questionable things have gone on....

He has some obstacles there though. I can dig up a post within the past 48 hours where his boss says that he only wants to see discussions about stocks. Certainly that is what brought most of us to SI, but for me, SI is about a lot more than stock discussions. That is why my threads have always welcomed both on topic and off topic discussions. A big part of SI's problem is the stockmarket itself. Many people who were here only for stock discussions have gone away. Why talk about stocks if you can't play anymore? It is the non-stock discussions that have kept SI alive during these more difficult times. A discussion site that doesn't diversify will be more prone to specific cycles than one that does diversify.
