Your conclusion is based on "what you think". Then you support it with the evidence of what you project others don't do. Did you know there is a job waiting for you at Quote.com?

Spy, on this point, I happen to agree with Ahhaha.. to limit symbol count if that will resolve this problem.

I'm sure you have experienced the problem of never having enough storage space.. somehow it all gets filled up. The same applies to symbol usage with QC. People keep adding symbols to their watch lists and have no incentive to remove them. I've been guilty of this myself and have cleaned up some lists as long as 500 symbols. I might load a quote sheet with a major sector list and leave it minimized on the desktop. It's not that one monitors such a list constantly, but it is useful to view the market by sorting on various columns and seeing how the groups are behaving for the day.

Imagine thousands of users each having several hundred symbols in their individual watch lists, on screen or minimized, but rarely viewed. This just wastes processor resources. If performance becomes improved, people will feel free to expand their lists until performance degrades again.

If having to live with a reasonable symbol limit would correct the performance problems, I'd be willing to do it.
