The final wording, observers noted, seemed based on the principle that in diplomacy it's not what you say that counts, but rather what you agree with the other side that you've said.

Apparently you favor the other side.

See, there is this concept called "Con-text". It means that to find the intended meaning in a document, you must read the entire document. If you pick out 2 or 3 words from a document, you will probably come to faulty conclusion as to the meaning. Try it some time.

In fact, try it with the ambassador's letter. You will find the meaning is the exact opposite of what you apparently think it is.

Did you notice that the letter came from the ambassador and not the President or the Sec. of State? Did you know the Chinese wouldn't even talk to the ambassador for the first 6 days? Who lost?

I don't get it. If a conservative says that the US should have take a hard line with China and threatened to stop trade, break relations, or use force, he's attacked by libs as a barbarian. Bush didn't do anything of those things and now he's attacked by libs for being too soft.

So how do we win?

You guys are just rock-throwers, right? No constructive suggestions or useful ideas at all.

The resolution of the EP3 incident is an unmitigated and undeniable US foreign policy win for the US and the Bush team. We got our people back, surveillance flights will continue and the Bush team is now undertaking to get all the facts on the table so that the world can see just how thuggish the Chicom gov't really is. Excellent tactics and strategy. Only an idiot would fail to see that.
