Thanks for the link. The price of the router here is striking especially when you read the Cisco literature suggesting that you can stack them. That is a pretty good price to pay for limited scalability. I expect Cisco would be selling additional iSCSI software to compensate for that problem. The author makes good arguments and ones we have been hearing here for a while, including the issue of processor utilization. I think the argument about segregating network from storage traffic in SANs doesn't overlap with that argument entirely and is also useful.

I would be interested in the total cost of the SN5420 including the GE switch ports and any necessary software implementation.

FC is starting to look cost effective.
