No, Phillips is great on oil and screwdrivers, Philips
was great at GSM, still great on TVs, CDs, VCRs and the
inventor of minor things like C-casettes and CD-s.

That is, the axis of telecom and consumer electronics run
strong between Finland and Netherland, unluckily Royal
Philips need to adjust some things.

P.S. We are sure to meet again as digital TV, multimedia
gets going, Philips has a some great mpeg4 stuff.

P.P.S Additionally the management is pretty safely
stuck in reality.

I haven't researched it either. Back a few years ago, however, I was told with some reasonable authority (or so I considered him) that net GSM royalties add up to (not or more) approximately 15% ... of the BOM ... not ASP ... of a GSM handset.
