Ramblin, shorting real estate? Hey, with the market mess you'd think so, huh. I tell ya, I always get amazed at places like you're talking about, Dalin. I call it the "obnoxiousness of wealth."

After we came back from sailing last year, I did some research on some spots in the Caribbean. Check this out. This is a place I looked at. Note the last picture and the bar:

Hey, we're not out of the woods yet, the real estate market always lags behind so you may get your opportunity still yet to pick up a bargain.

I think a sailboat called "Ramblin" is in order.

check out IYR as vehicle to short real estate
I have yet to investigate much
it is the Dow Jones Real Estate Trust Index
trades like most sector indexes
e.g. BKS banks, BTK biotech, SOX chips, ...
dunno about liquidity though

I think real estate is due for a good whacking by next winter
