I don't see how anyone could make a decision on how to evaluate and pigeonhole someone else's religion if that target person was quiet about religion.

I rarely cross paths with fundamentalists but I did work on a management review with one. She was a lovely person and an excellent analyst. I didn't even know she was a fundamentalist until she left her job to do the barefoot/pregnant/kitchen thing and we had a chat about her decision.

I remember the discussion the thread had about labels, in particular the change from Negro to black, and chooseanother's granny saying that people were entitled to choose their own labels. I think that applies to fundamentalists as well. Others might want to characterize fundamentalists in a certain way, but I think it's iffy to choose their labels for them.
