My Dell box is acting up again. I was getting memory warnings from NAV while
burning a CD so I checked a little further. According to System Monitor
128 M (my limit) of swap files are in use after booting. Scan disk is
reading my 45 gig harddrive as 31.4 gigs. I just hung up with Dell. They're
shipping a new processor on Mon. The local tech should receive it Tues.
then will call me to schedule a service call. After the new processor's
installed they want me to backup everything, I still don't have Drive Image,
then call Dell to be talked through something called debugging which is
done before formatting. So far Dell's replaced 128 MB of RDRAM and
the motherboard. I'm disappointed with all the problems but very happy
with the support and service.

I don't know how to access the NSW main page. I've gone to the Norton System Doctor Help topics, and put in "Norton System Works," and it says only this:

Norton SystemWorks is a suite of programs that:
Gives your system a complete inspection with One Button Checkup.
Finds, fixes, and prevents Windows problems with Norton Utilities
Protects against virus infections with Norton AntiVirus
Safely removes programs and files with Norton CleanSweep

Keeps your hardware drivers and software up to date with Norton Web Services powered by ZDNet.

Click any of the buttons above to learn about the Norton SystemWorks programs.

To access any of the Norton SystemWorks programs, double-click the Norton SystemWorks shortcut on your desktop and select the program you want to run.

but except for the 1995- 2000 date above, none of the buttons give a version number. That 2000 is suggestive, though. And there is no NSW icon on my desktop. And if I put "Norton System Works" into the main Search slot, it gets no results. Doctor, yes; Works, no.

Maybe I should just uninstall Norton System Doctor in all its parts and reinstall some safe version? This just seems right, waht you've found.

Five per cent fragmented, the light is red, eeeeeeek.
