Launch of DOCOMO 3g system is delayed for trial, limiting to 3-4,000 users. Industry believes that DOCOMO not using exclusive NEC equipment may have flakiness in transmission. In fact, the trial will be on data and video streaming on internet. What has it got to do with possible shakedown of digital TV system? Digital TV(HDTV) will be using wireless cell phone tuners, 5 mbs to do interactive features and billing services on top of video streaming; when 2.4 mbs will do fine with video streaming only. Microwave towers have to broadcast to any cell phone tuners non-stop free of faults(hence the trial). So, the convergence goes on? A little delay to get more technology done right is fine with me.
