bearish sentiment hasn't been really strong yet. it's only that bullish sentiment has waned a bit...complacency is still high considering how awful the performance of the stock market has been.
one of my favorite indicators, WS strategist equity allocations, is at the strongest sell signal in its history, i.e. WS equity allocations have never been higher. no durable bottom can be reached without those allocation models turning bearish too (it's of course bullish when they're bearish and vice versa).
