Yes the punchbowl doesn't look quite as inviting as it once did for members of the gsm club. Wonder why? <LOL>

>> QCOM executes very well but manages to upset many companies in the process.

I think the Nokia employee was saying that

QCOM manages to upset many companies because they execute very well.

This has got to be a nightmare for NOK. Despite Jorma Ollila's repeated claims that they are going to take major share in the cdma sector, the only approach they've found that works is to private label handsets. That's not a high margin business, so they face altering their business model to something similar to Kyocera's, or buying expertise from qcom. If they do neither, their ability to survive is highly suspect.

<<<QCOM executes very well but manages to upset many companies in the process.

I don't how that comment was intended, but I think any management executive team to whom that comment is directed should take it as a compliment even if it's a back-handed one. And it should make any Gorilla-Gaming shareholder as pleased as can be.>>>

He said that many times he has heard from the Koreans and Japanese that it is easier to talk to Nokia than it is talking with the QCOM guys. QCOM guys come across very hard headed and very firm. The analogy he gave me later was comparing QCOM to MSFT.

A friend of a friend had a chance to talk to a sales rep who works for Sanmina. According to the rep, sales to QCOM have slowed down recently. I asked for details but did not get anywhere. I am not sure what QCOM manufactures but they were talking about integrated circuit boards. The rep was also very impressed with QCOM as a long term investment.
