She has faith, which is no doubt a large part of the motivation for her
good works. You seem to be asserting that either her faith is base on the "truth" of
God's existence, or she's crazy. I think that's a dubious assertion.

Well, that's what she says. She says she talks directly to God, and that's how she finds the faith to do what she does.

If God doesn't exist and she's just talking to and taking orders from voices in her head, that's a pretty good definition of crazy, at least in my book.

As to Jim Jones and David Koresh, no, I don't think they were cool dudes. (Though Koresh was recognized by mainstream theologians as a biblical interpreter of considerable ability.) But I don't think that what I think of them is the be all and the end all.

I'm not that arrogant.

If they were the right people for their followers to follow to make themselves happy, who am I to complain?

After all, look at the political arena.

Some people revere Teddy Kennedy. Some revere Jesse Helms. Some think Al Sharpton is a great man. Some think David Duke is a great man. Is is your place, or mine, to say some of these people are following charletans?
