Has anyone else noticed that up to now, the processor speeds for wireless chips have been blessedly lacking in the "rat race/chest thumping" going on in the PC world? You really don't have anyone saying their processor is breaking new ground at 400Mhz! or whatever like AMD and INTC have been doing for the past how many years. Up to now, it's been voice clarity and data transmission speeds that everyone cares about...

Is this Intel release just the beginning of this process? Are they going to try and convince the public that their 3G processing chips are better than what QCOM offers because their processor is running at X while QCOM is limping along at X-2? Is this the inevitable "Intel Inside" marketing coming to wireless?

Curious to see if anyone else sees this down the road as another PR battle QCOM will have to wage... Is this INTCs way of trying to section the market in a way that benefits them?
