Finally, NOK clears up the confusion on 3G
This is a most revealing pdf. It clearly shows NOK on the defensive. "let us clear up about when 3G will appear"....and then goes on to discuss GPRS...

I believe they are trying really hard to capitalize on their present marketing position, and this is from the pdf:
In our view, the most realistic projection of 3G market share is one that calculates the number of contracts and the actual value of deliveries as measured over a two- year forecast period. We recommend this approach because it most accurately reflects the capabilities of a vendor, operator confidence in that supplier, and the true valuation of network solutions that vendor will actually deliver in a defined period of time.
so now we know why NOK is hell-bent on signing up folks by throwing money at them so early on....that gives them market share, right? They say so right here....
