Very OT/Doug. Just got back & saw your post.

Perhaps they did serve together. I don't have all the details about where he served. They received commemorative buttons for different campaigns. And we have some of those. The furthest west we have one for is Mississippi.

My GGF was quite a character. Lied about his age to volunteer at 16! Got away with it because he was tall like most of my family. After the war he became a very successful designing and executing some well known civil engineering projects.

San Francisco cable car system was his best known in this country. In England, he developed the "downdraft steel furnace" and my cousin actually has the royal citation GGF received from Queen Victoria.

10 yrs eh? How do you think the emergence of efficient commercial fuel cells will effect the energy infrastructure between now and then? Certainly won't hurt NG demand. But won't they be an important factor in considerably decentralizing power generation?
