I didn't say Caesar claimed to be a God, though now that you mention it I bet I can find some contemporary or near-contemporary reference which claim that he did indeed claim divine status.

But even though he was, presumably, human, and therefore his existence should be easily provable, if one wants to reject all proofs as inadequate there is probably nothing absolute, ironclad, not explainable away by some theory, which can be put forward to prove absolutely that he existed and was not a fictional character.
