"So history may still regard him<AG> as a near God. As long as it isn't written by those who were overweight in high tech."

I am overweight in high tech and paid a steep price. I hung in there and although I didnt have the guts to buy more (at Cary's buy points) which i wanted to do, at least I wasnt the last man out the door. In any case I learned(re-learned) some valuable lessons on "life" from this debacle specifically regarding hubris, humility, and humor. Folks on this thread helped me greatly in becoming a better person as many of us suffered thru this together. Even the bears here, are almost to a person always civil unlike other SI venues. I was genuinely happy this morning that Advocate Devil got out of his short in time. This is a good place.

"However, I couldn't understand the need for 7 increases in the fed funds

I totally agree...maybe I didn't express myself clearly but that is what I meant by jousting at imaginary inflation windmills! One positive thing in all this is the maxim "Don't fight the FED". He was on the bears' side last year but he is now firmly on the bulls' side...let's just hope his actions are as effective on the upside as they were on the downside. I still don't think history will regard him as a God for his actions the past 18 months...he fought the last war (inflation) and brought us to the brink (only I hope!) of a deflationary recession.
