Got news for you Scumbria. SV is a lousy place to raise a family unless you can afford a tract home for $600,000 plus. One of the LOWEST affordability indexes in the U.S.

I thought dems wanted the less fortunate to have a chance too.

Wrong as usual, scumbag. Does NYC have lots and lots of natural family recreation? No? Well, the reason for the high cost of living may still be the same: they both are centers of industries that provide lots and lots of high-paying jobs. In NYCs case it's finance. In SVs case it is electronics and software.

Does Lake Tahoe have a high cost of living? Why not? Great recreation area, both summer and winter.
