American: There is no question that we had peace and prosperity under Clinton. How much of that is attributable to him is another question. You must be a real yellow dog dem. I can always tell because as soon as anyone says anything vaguely critical (I remind you that I said he was an "alleged" rapist) a real yellow dog dem immediately goes into a litany about how they all do it and he is no different than any other politician. Such crap. "Accidents happen. With nukes too." and cars and trains and airplanes and buildings and elevators and fire, etc. The point is that our country and the world is not going to stop consuming energy, and in my view should not, so where is the energy going to come from. Do you want to live with no lights, autos, tv's, furnaces, air conditioning. Do you use these? Are you prepared to stop using them? We could probably go a long way to solve the energy crisis by banning air conditioning. Try that and see how the electorate responds. The fact is that nukes are the safest and best of current technology, both from a safety aspect and a pollution aspect and soon it will become clear that there really is no other way to go, despite the claims that we can use wind power, wave power and such other wishological "solutions". My friendm, I am a dem, but only because on balance, I think the party is better for the average guy. However, I must admit that of late, I am beginning to wonder. Seems like the party has developed so many knee jerk ideaolgical responses to problems, that its ability to be effective is eroding daily. The American people just want workable solutions. Not left wing, or for that matter, right wing, nutso ideaology. When people support their party blindly and without criticism, they do neither their country or their party any good. Little joe
