Your argument is absurd. The cause and effect of SV becoming what it is, is largely tied into the quality of life there.

To a certain extent yes but;

"The Valley has several excellent university; Stanford in particular educated a lot of the people who started a lot of the companies that pour a l.ot of money into the Valley."

And many of these students are the offspring of rich (or at least upper middle class) people. And most of the rags to riches stories emerge from non-rich university students rubbing shoulders with rich students in the university system.
