I can't disagree more.... one of my friends growing up [lived across the street] was a janitor at the high school... my dad ran the municipal hospital. Today... fagetaboutit... nobody like that in the neighborhood. Not only that, both parents now work... have you seen the data on children in daycare and violence levels??? IMO the long term effects are just starting to be measured... and none of them are included in economic statistics. Great, they have more gadgets and the "family income" is higher... [barely if at all in real terms].. and look at the cost.

i have to disagree, too. housing has far outpaced inflation and line workers can afford less housing now than in 1973. MUCH LESS.
